A/C “Zeskho” was founded in year 1978 by famous georgian alpinist – Jokia Gugava, who was a managing director of alpine camp “Ailama” at that time. Unlike A/C “Ailama”, A/C “Zeskho” should not be concentrated only on professional alpinists. According to it`s location and rich nature, it should have enabled A/C “Zeskho” to host ordinary tourists, and amateur alpinists, who would have had the opportunity to enjoy mountain fresh air and healthy holiday.
Very soon after foundation A/C “Zeskho” became one of the most important alpine-tourist camps in the former USSR. Due to permanently increasing number of tourists, the camp was unable to accomodate all of them in the cottages, so “Temporary City” of tents used to be built in the middle of the camp.
From the beginning of 90-th, due to heavely stressed political and economical background in the country, A/C “Zeskho”`s activity was temporarily interrupted. In recent years, by the tolerance of A/C “Zeskho”`s supporters, despite difficulties, A/C “Zeskho” is still alive and is functioning.
